#MerrillUMD Lecturer Josh Davidsburg's class focused on the #NavyYardShooting in Washington, D.C. today. The students all got their initial information via social media and continued to follow the story that way throughout the day. Josh talked with his students about the use of Twitter as a news headline service, why the local and national media continue to report the same information over and over, and the difficulty of covering news when the information is rapidly changing - even when it comes from the police or other public agencies.
