A low pressure system will approach Colorado from the northwest today. Ahead of this system, warmer air will briefly spread back over the region today. Enough moisture will remain in place across the state today for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly in and near the mountains. The low was then expected to push over eastern Colorado tonight, dragging a cold front through the region by Sunday morning. Moisture will increase area wide behind this front, with an elevated threat for heavy rain and flash flooding returning to the region into Sunday night, especially in and near the burn scars and other areas already saturated from recent heavy rains.
