Of the $2 million Bush reported raising, more than 40 percent came from outside Texas. His biggest donors include GOP heavyweights who were instrumental in helping bankroll uncle George W. Bush’s presidential races. Among them, longtime Bush friend Brad Freeman of Los Angeles ($10,000); Public Storage founder Wayne Hughes ($5,000); and venture capitalist Jerry Perenchino, former head of Univision ($5,000). His Texas donors also include some well-known names. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gave $25,000, and former Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman gave $10,000.
