Monsoon moisture will increase slightly across the region over the next couple of days, with a chance for showers and thunderstorms developing over much of the region. Locally heavy rain will be possible with these storms, so persons living in or near the burn scars will need to remain weather alert this weekend. Area temperatures will return to around average on Saturday, with highs in the 90s across the southeast plains, and generally in the 70s and 80s over the high country. Temperatures will then cool over the eastern plains behind a cold front on Sunday, with highs falling back into the 70s and 80s to start the new work week.
