Talked to 2-3 creators who all thought Pacific Rim was stolen from them. I did Giant Monster which features giant monsters fighting giant robots. I don’t think for a second PR ripped me off. Instead I think we’re all taking from the same pool of movies and TV shows from our youth. It happens. I think with this we are all dipping from a very specific and limited sub genre: For me it was Ultra Man, Johnny Socko and his Giant Robot, Godzilla movies, Gorgo. and War of the Gargantuas.
