So, this surreal story just hit the news: Jeff Olson, a Californian, faces 13 years in jail for writing sidewalk-chalk messages that protested against Bank of America.

Bank of America is claiming that the messages (which were written with water-soluble chalk) cost $6,000 to clean up.

Um, what? 13 years of jail time?

What's more, this story follows last week's revelation that BofA employees lied to customers and removed customer documents so they could get cash and gift card bonuses for meeting foreclosure quotas.

In other words, just so we're all clear:

Protest with chalk: 13 years in jail
Illegally foreclose on customers: 0 years in jail
