'One 13th April is enough' April 13th, 1975, known as 'Ain el-Rammaneh massacre’, was the first of a short series of armed clashes involving Lebanese Maronite and Palestinian elements in the streets of central Beirut, sparking the Lebanese Civil War. Left Wing, pan-Arabist and Muslim Lebanese groups later allied themselves with the Palestinians. During the course of the fighting, alliances shifted rapidly and unpredictably: by the end of the war, nearly every party had allied with and subsequently betrayed every other party at least once.
