Pork Passport Sweepstakes
Official Rules


The Pork Passport Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins on June 7, 2013 at 7:00 AM Central Time (“CT”) and ends on June 8, 2013 at 10:00 PM CT (“Sweepstakes Period”). 

ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least 18 years of age and attendees of the 2013 BlogHer Food Conference taking place at the Austin Hilton (hereafter, the “Conference”) in Austin, TX from June 7-8, 2013. Employees of National Pork Board (“Sponsor”), Weber Shandwick, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law. Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Twitter, Inc. (“Twitter”). By entering this Sweepstakes, you understand that you are providing your information to Sponsor and not to Twitter.

HOW TO ENTER: During the Sweepstakes Period, there are two (2) ways to enter; 1) Complete Activities: visit the National Pork Board takeover truck at the BlogHer Food Conference where the list of eight (8) interactive point of interest activities (identified below) will be posted (each, an “Activity”). Upon completion of each Activity, show a National Pork Board representative that you completed and a Sponsor representative will provide you with a stamp. By completing four (4) of the eight (8) Activities, subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules, you will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. If you complete all eight (8) Activities, subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules, you will receive two (2) entries into the Sweepstakes. NOTE: If you complete less than four (4) Activities, you will not receive a Sweepstakes entry. If you complete more than four (4) Activities, but less than all eight (8) Activities, you will only receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. Activities must be completed by June 8, 2013 at 10:00 PM CT to be eligible for the applicable number of entries. Or 2) Email: To receive two (2) entries without completing an Activity, Email porkpassport@gmail.com. In the body of the email, include your name, complete address, daytime and evening telephone numbers (area code included), and date-of-birth. The subject of the email must read, “Pork Passport Sweepstakes. Entries must be received by June 8, 2013 at 10:00 PM CT. Limit of two (2) entries per person throughout the Sweepstakes Period, regardless of method of entry. Entries received in excess of the stated limitation will be void. Entries generated by mechanical or other automated means and entries by any means which subvert the entry process are void.

Activities are as follows;

2.	Say “hi,” at the National Pork Board booth! Visit table 9, scan your badge and get a stamp.
3.	Out at a #BlogHerFood party or an Austin hot spot? If you’re enjoying pork, tweet it with #PorkPassport.*
4.	Know the temperature range for cooking pork? Swing by to tell us at @TheGrackle.
5.	Say cheese with our pork pal, Stephanie from theculinarylife.com, and share the photo using #PorkPassport. Stephanie will be @TheGrackle from 12:30 - 2 p.m. for a chance to chat.
6.	Tweet @allaboutpork a photo of your favorite dish from today’s lunch (remember – lunch is on us @TheGrackle!). Don’t forget #PorkPassport.*
7.	Stop by @TheGrackle to fill out a page in our quote book – tell us your best #BlogHerFood tip, food quote or recipe, or end this sentence, “You know you’re a food blogger when…”
8.	Share a Vine of your trip to the food truck lot with the hashtag #PorkPassport.*

RANDOM DRAWING: One (1) potential winner will be selected in a random drawing held on or about June 9, 2013 from all eligible entries received throughout the Sweepstakes Period. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. 

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Potential winner will be notified via phone and/or email and will be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and, where lawful, a publicity release within 5 days of notification. If such documents are not returned within the specified time period, Sponsor is unable to contact potential winner within a reasonable time period, prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or potential winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules, prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor’s discretion, an alternate winner may be notified. If potential winner is at least 18 but still considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, prize will be awarded in the name of his/her parent or legal guardian, and such parent or legal guardian will be required to fulfill all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein.

GRAND PRIZE (1): Winner’s choice of one (1) of the following prizes; 1) a food photography class focusing on meat photography; 2) a trip for winner and one (1) guest including dinner at the chef’s tasting table at Paul Qui’s new restaurant, Restaurant Qui in Austin, Texas. Trip includes round-trip air transportation, 2 days and 1 nights hotel accommodations (one (1) room, double occupancy), and dinner at Restaurant Qui for one (1) night ; or 3) a kitchen or grill makeover. All prizes will be coordinated by Weber Shandwick. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $2,000. In the event the restaurant trip option is selected, if winner resides within a 100-mile radius of destination, ground transportation will be provided in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided in lieu thereof. Actual value of may vary based on point of departure. Any difference between stated value and actual value will not be awarded.  Travel must be made through Sponsor’s agent for a date/time at least 75 days in advance of trip. Travel must be completed by 6/8/2014 or prize will be forfeited and Sponsor will have no further obligation to winner. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary.  Guest must be of legal age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence (and at least 18), unless the child or legal ward of winner and must sign a liability/publicity release prior to issuance of travel documents. If guest is child or legal ward of winner, winner must sign and return release on behalf of such child or legal ward. Travel is subject to availability. Certain blackout dates and travel restrictions may apply. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. Winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided, including if the trip prize is selected, any ground transportation, luggage fees, additional meals, gratuities and souvenirs. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges, which shall be final in all respects relating to this Sweepstakes; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Weber Shandwick, Twitter and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the foregoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize (including any travel/activity related thereto); and (c) to the use of his/her name, voice, photograph, image and/or likeness for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet, and in perpetuity by Sponsor and its designees, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) or additional consents from entrant or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. 

Released Parties are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, delayed, or destroyed, entries; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), cellular service or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether typographical, human mechanical, electronic, computer, network, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries, the cancellation or postponement of the Conference, the announcement of the prize or in any Sweepstakes-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or to any other person's mobile device related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes or downloading materials from or use of the website. Sponsor may disqualify anyone from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize (and void all associated entries) if, in its sole discretion, it determines that such person is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, deception or other unfair playing practices, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor’s representatives. In the event that a winner is found to be in violation of any of these Official Rules after prize has been awarded, he/she will be required to forfeit the prize or to reimburse the Sponsor for the stated value of the prize if such violation is found after the prize has been used by the winner. Should any portion of the Sweepstakes be, in the Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes and, if terminated, at its sole discretion, select the potential winner in a random drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to action taken. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK ANY AND ALL REMEDIES AVAILABLE FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. 
ARBITRATION: Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in this Sweepstakes, participant agrees that (1) any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by final and binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association and held at the AAA regional office nearest the participant; (2) the Federal Arbitration Act shall govern the interpretation, enforcement and all proceedings at such arbitration; and (3) judgment upon such arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys' fees, other than participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e., costs associated with participating in this Sweepstakes), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
CHOICE OF LAW: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the substantive laws of the State of Iowa, USA.
REQUEST FOR WINNER’S NAME: For the name of the winner (available after June 15, 2013) send a self-addressed, stamped, envelope by July 15, 2013 to: Pork Passport Sweepstakes Winner, PO Box 9114, Des Moines, Iowa 50306. VT residents may omit return postage.
