It is fair to say that the lion has captured the human imagination for many centuries as a symbol of power and majesty. It's colorings and propensity for living in sunlit places often give it the reputation for being associated with the sun, even though it is typically a more nocturnal predator. Carved statues of lions are commonly found guarding palaces, bridges, temples, and tombs. The lion's strength and courage have made it a symbol of power as well as grandeur. Symbolism: self-control, strength, courage, balance, pride, conservation of energy, friendship, solar energies, family, vitality.
