FUCK #LANCOME #DIOR #MAC !! STOP #ANIMALTESTINGS !! Several cosmetics companies (Lancome, Dior, MAC ) have quietly changed their policies and are now testing on animals!!
Which major cosmetics companies are misleading consumers about animal testing!!

Consumer watchdog, Choice led an undercover investigation in Australia. Choice sent secret shoppers to the counters of major cosmetics companies to find out if these companies were upfront with consumers about their policies on animal testing. The results of the undercover investigation were released today.

SOME COSMETICS COMPANIES THAT WERE CRUELTY-FREE FOR MANY YEARS HAVE CHANGED THEIR POLICIES ON ANIMAL TESTING SO THAT THEY MAY MARKET TO CHINA WHERE ANIMAL TESTING IS REQUIRED. THESE COMPANIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO MARY KAY, AVON AND ESTEE LAUDER. MANY COMPANIES UNDER THE ESTEE LAUDER UMBRELLA INCLUDING M.A.C COSMETICS AND BOBBI BROWN HAVE ALSO BEGAN TESTING ON ANIMALS SO THAT THEY MAY MARKET TO CHINA. NOT ALL OF THESE COMPANIES HAVE NOTIFIED CONSUMERS THAT THEY ARE NO LONGER CRUELTY-FREE. THE DECEIT OF SOME COSMETICS COMPANIES IS EVEN THROUGH THEIR WEBSITES WHERE THEY STILL CLAIM TO BE FREE OF ANIMAL TESTING EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT. CHOICE WILL BE REPORTING A LIST OF THESE OFFENDERS TO THE AUSTRALIAN COMPETITION AND CONSUMER COMMISSION THIS WEEK.

Choice also found an alarming amount of sales people from these companies lied to the secret shoppers during the undercover investigation. Cosmetics counter sales people for SK-II, Lancome, Dior and M.A.C Cosmetics told the secret shoppers that their products were not tested on animals which is a lie. A Clarins worker went as far as telling a secret shopper that animal testing anywhere in the world is illegal. It is possible that some of the workers may be misinformed by the company and that some may not know, which is unacceptable. These companies can be taken to court for misleading consumers.

ABC contacted companies including Bobbi Brown, Shiseido and Dior for comment. These companies have not responded. L'Oreal explained that they are actively working on alternative methods to animal testing. Despite the alternative testing that is available and the companies that are cruelty-free, L'Oreal still continues testing on animals. The Body Shop and Urban Decay are both companies under the L'Oreal umbrella but continue to operate independently and remain cruelty-free.

ANIMAL TESTING IS NOT SPRAYING PERFUME ON A BUNNY TO SEE HOW IT SMELLS BEFORE HITTING THE MARKET. ANIMAL TESTING INCLUDES POISONING, BURNING AND OTHER FORMS OF TORTURE INFLICTED UPON THESE ANIMALS. POPULAR MAKEUP BRANDS THAT TEST ON ANIMALS INCLUDE AVON, BOBBI BROWN, CHANEL, CLINIQUE, ELIZABETH ARDEN, ESTEE LAUDER, M.A.C COSMETICS, LANCOME AND L'OREAL. HAIRCARE BRANDS GUILTY OF ANIMAL TESTING INCLUDE BUMBLE AND BUMBLE, CLAIROL, REVLON AND PANTENE. SKINCARE COMPANIES ALSO STILL TESTING ON ANIMALS INCLUDE DOVE, CETAPHIL, LA MER, OLAY AND NEUTROGENA. FOR A LIST OF COMPANIES THAT ARE CRUELTY-FREE USE RESOURCES INCLUDING PETA AND THE LEAPING BUNNY.
