Sunny skies and very warm, above normal temperatures will prevail today for most areas. The exception will be the higher terrain where afternoon showers and thunderstorms will develop each day this week, while valleys remain mostly dry. Windy and dry conditions will be seen on Friday ahead of a cold front expected to move through Friday night through Saturday, bringing more unsettled conditions with increased chances of showers and storms. Above normal temperatures this week will cool down to more normal readings by the weekend. (Please visit http://weather.gov/gjt for more information.)
