A ridge of high pressure will remain in control for today through much of this week, with mostly sunny skies and very warm temperatures. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will develop each day over the mountains, while valleys remain mostly dry. A cold front is expected to move through Friday night through Saturday, bringing more unsettled conditions with increased chances of showers and storms. Above normal temperatures this week will cool down to more normal readings by the weekend. (Please visit http://weather.gov/gjt for more information.)
