The warmest day so far this year is expected today, along with gusty afternoon winds over the higher terrain. Changes are ahead Tuesday into Wednesday as a cold front pushes southward through the region. It will be warm and windy across the southern half of the area on Tuesday well ahead of the front, with a Red Flag Warning in effect for Southwest Colorado. A chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected along and behind the front Tuesday afternoon/evening, with much colder air moving in on Wednesday. By Wednesday, most of the precipitation will have ended with only scattered snow showers for the northern and central mountains.
