Dry and fair weather is expected across the state today, with decreasing high clouds expected by this afternoon over the eastern plains. Gusty winds will be possible mainly across the higher elevations, and over the far southeast corner of Colorado this afternoon. Area temperatures will warm into the 60s across much of the eastern plains, and 40s and 50s over the high country. Looking ahead to the weekend. An approaching low pressure system will impact the state Friday afternoon into early Sunday. This will bring unsettled weather to much of the region, with the potential for significant snow expected along and west of the continental divide. Persons planning travel this weekend should remain weather alert to this developing winter weather situation. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
