A strong winter storm will begin to lift out of the area tonight. Snow is likely for central and northeast Missouri as well as west-central Illinois this evening. Further to the south and east, mixed precipitation is more likely. Freezing drizzle is possible for all areas later this evening and overnight tonight after the heavier precipitation moves off to the northeast. This weekend will be much quieter with warming temperatures to near seasonal normals on Sunday. Another winter storm system approaches the region on Monday with a chance of rain/snow.
