A major winter storm will impact the area Thursday and into Thursday night, and as a result winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories have been posted for the entire region. A variety of wintry weather is expected to occur, including freezing rain, snow, and sleet. Snowfalls of 6 or more inches are expected across northern Missouri and west-central Illinois, but the precipitation will mix with and become increasingly dominated by freezing rain and sleet heading further to the south.
