A winter storm is expected to affect the Midwest later this week bringing heavy snow to much of the central Plains. Locally, in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, snow will move in Wednesday night and continue through Thursday with 8 to 12 inches forecast. A wintry mixture could occur on the southern edge of the storm across Kansas and Missouri. All snow is forecast across Nebraska and Iowa.
