Rain showers will overspread across the region late this morning and early this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. A few thunderstorms are possible, mainly in eastern Missouri and southern Illinois. Very windy conditions can be found for areas just to the south and east of Saint Louis City this afternoon where south winds will gust as high as 45 mph. Another low pressure system is expected to affect Missouri and Illinois from Wednesday night through Thursday night. This system is expected to bring a wintry mix of rain, snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain to much of the area. We'll start to get a better idea of the precipitation types and amounts over the next several days, however, it looks increasingly likely that this storm could have a major impact across the region.
