The next weather system to impact the area will take aim on the region late tonight. A weak low pressure system moving just north of the Gulf Coast is forecast to bring a rain/snow mix to southern Missouri and southern Illinois tonight into early Wednesday morning. At this time, snowfall accumulations of up to one half of an inch are expected as the rain/snow mix briefly changes to all snow. Then dry and warmer conditions will return to the region during the day on Wednesday with highs in the low 50s. (Please visit http://weather.gov/lsx for more information.)
