I'M A CURLY GIRL!
I'm officially starting the Curly Girl Method today. Truthfully, I'm already following some of the rules but I'm going all in. So that means:

*No more detangling with my Denman brush however tempting - FINGER detangling only!! Something I used to do easily when my hair was shorter.

*No heat - I haven't used ANY kind of heat in my hair in over 2 years. This 1 will be easy.

*No 'cones' - no silicones or other 'cones'

*Cleansing - using a No-Poo creamy botanical conditioner or low poo (like sulfate free shampoo) cleanser & I choose NO-POO. So I'll cleanse w/a botanical conditioner.

*I'm going to start more wearing wash-n-go styles. Less twist-outs. This is me letting my curls just BE what they want to be a CURLS! This doesn't mean going out in the cold w/wet hair. I'll do it in the evening & get creative.

The book offers lots of great techniques for Afro textured hair. Much more helpful than I ever thought it would be. I love that Lorraine Massey had the insight to have an African American expert Curly Girl from her staff to tackle our hair section in the book. So far two thumbs up but still reading.

While far from the exact same, I do now realize a lot curly girls (regardless of ethnicity) have the same hair issues. Dryness & fear of becoming a frizz or poofball in certain weather conditions.
