Thunderstorms will become more widespread through this evening as a strong cold front sweeps east and interacts with the humid and unstable airmass over our area. A few of the thunderstorms may become severe, with damaging straight-line winds and brief, short-lived tornadoes being the primary threats. Areas of heavy rain can also be expected.
