Clashes between protesters and police broke-out of Manama, 27 January following the funeral of the eight-year-old boy who died in what people regard as controversial circumstances a day earlier. Marzooq, a child with special needs, was admitted to hospital on 19 January 2013 after developing breathing problems when his home village home, a suburb of Manama, was affected by tear-gas during recent clashes. The various opposition groups had declared the child a martyr, with thousands taking part in his funeral march.
