A winter storm system will push across Colorado tonight, into Friday evening, spreading clouds over the state, with areas of snow developing over the mountains, mainly along and west of the Continental Divide. Blizzard conditions will be likely over the southwest mountains, making travel across mountain passes hazardous if not impossible. As the upper level jet pushes into the state tonight, winds will likely increase across the mountains, before spreading into the eastern plains Friday morning. The low will drag an arctic cold front through the region Friday afternoon, with a noticeably colder airmass spreading back across eastern Colorado through the upcoming weekend. High temperatures will likely occur at most locations during the morning hours, with falling temperatures expected behind the cold front in the afternoon.
