Dry weather will continue over Colorado on Wednesday with temperatures warming into the 50s over the eastern plains, and generally 30s and 40s over the high country, with 20s to low 30s expected across the San Luis Valley. By late Wednesday, a storm system over Texas will push into Nebraska, brushing the southeast corner of Colorado Wednesday night, with a few clouds and a small chance for precipitation developing into early Thursday morning. Then, a strong Pacific storm system will begin moving into the Rockies late Thursday into Friday. This system will bring accumulating snow to the mountains on Friday, and then spread eastward, bringing the chance of some light snow to the Plains by the weekend. Frigid arctic air will begin pouring southward behind a cold front on Saturday. This could lead to some of the coldest weather of this winter so far, extending into early next week.
