Federal Bureau Of Investigation - St. Louis Field Office
Special Agent Jarrod Michael Petrelli - U.S. Army Reservist
End Of Watch: 12-06-12 (delayed posting by request of Agency)
SA Jarrod Petrelli, 34, passed away suddenly while attending a Gangs Training conference in Florida (details below). Born with a soul that has courage to wear the badge, SA Petrelli had been Saving, Serving and Protecting the People as a Law Enforcement Officer for 11 years. This True Blue Warrior was also serving our beloved country and her People as a proud Patriot with the United States Army as a Reservist. Brother Jarrod had previously worked for the West Palm Beach, Fl. PD for four years, the Broward County SO, Fl,. for two years and one year with the Amherst PD, Mas., before coming to the Federal Bureau of Investigations in August 2008, where he has worked ever since. Brother Jarrod worked so hard to achieve his dream of being an F.B.I. Agent. He earned it and the Agency was so lucky to have such a bright, hard-working, enthusiastic Officer. Assigned to the St. Louis, Missouri Field Office, SA Petrelli worked tirelessly, with Dedication, Courage and Fearlessness to investigate and take down violent Gang members. The FBI has a 2 year probationary period and once he completed this, Brother Jarrod almost immediately found himself in a leadership position as a relief Supervisor. This True Blue Warrior made a name for himself right quickly and became a mentor to his peers.SA Petrelli was already decorated as well ... just this past October, he received the Distinguished Service Award for heading up a years-long investigation, subsequent arrests and convictions of a heroin trafficking ring dubbed “Operation Scorpion King."
SA Petrelli was incredibly well-liked and respected by his peers. He was a natural-born Investigator and was living his dream ... one he was born to so ... one he did so well. Brother Jarrod had a very warm disposition when working along side other LEOs and though he had a knack for this Gang work, he also knew he had a lot to learn. Keeping an open mind and thinking outside the box when he took the reins, he knew when it was time to listen to what other's thought may be a better way to go at a mission. SA Petrelli took great pride in his badge and his oath and represented what we all should continue to aspire to be.
When not bringing down the baddies, Brother Jarrod could not get enough of his three little girls and just playing daddy. He enjoyed his rare quality time with his young bride and family. They made the best of their time and just felt blessed to have those moments. It will now be up to us all to ensure his daughters grow up knowing the incredible difference their father made and just how much he truly Lived As Only A Hero Could. A Son, Husband, Father and Brother of Blue who will be missed by so very many. Professional and personable, Brave and Benevolent, this was an Agent whom so many were looking forward to seeing just how far he would take his career. Sadly, we will never know ...
On 06 December, just three days shy of his 35th birthday, SA Petrelli was in Boca Raton, Florida attending a Gang Conference when he suddenly passed away from natural causes. The exact cause is not known at this time. Tests are pending. This has been declared 'In the Line Of Duty'. I will update once permitted.
Jarrod leaves behind his beloved bride Tammy, three young daughters - Rachel, Ashley and Ariana, parents Frank and Kathleen, Brother Michael and Sister Nicole. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Petrelli family, the Men and Women of the FBI, the Amherst and West Palm Beach PDs, the Broward SO, to fellow Patriots of the US Army, and to all whom have had the pleasure and the privilege of knowing and working along side this True Blue Hero.
Our Brother, as you now look down from the Heavens, may you continue your vigilant watch over us all as we carry on in the battles to come ... In Our Brother's Honor. We thank you for your service and for your sacrifice. We thank you for your life. Job Well Done Sir.
Rest In Peace Special Agent Jarrod Michael Petrelli - U.S. Army Reservist ... We have the watch from here. SALUTE!
