This lithograph is already in my hallway. When Mount Vesuvius erupted in A.D. 79, volcanic ash buried many cities and towns in the region of Southern Italy surrounding the Bay of Naples. Our panel is a reproduction of a fresco wall painting (Roman, about 40–30 B.C.) from the bedroom of a country villa in Boscoreale, located about one mile north of Pompeii.
Art-book-quality offset lithograph mounted on a wood panel.19 1/2''H x 39''W.
