Weekend Soccer
ANOTHER cracking weekend of live soccer ahead and the match of the weekend has to be at lunchtime on Saturday at Old Trafford where Man Utd host an unpredictable Arsenal, who seem all over the place. After that tennis match against Reading on Tuesday night, you don’t know what you’re going to get with this Gooners team, but the 4/1 on offer may be a tad too high and will surely tempt some punters looking for a bit of value.
PG FIVEHIT
We start with the odds-on Fivehit and they all are Premiership clubs with games starting on Saturday and ending on Monday.
We begin with leaders CHELSEA (4/6) who travel to Wales to take on Swansea and we fancy the Blues to return to London with all points.
MAN CITY (5/6) are next up in the late Saturday kick-off and can bank all points on their visit to West Ham
On to the Sunday games and under-siege Mark Hughes’ QPR (5/6) can throw him a lifeline by grabbing three precious points when they entertain a deflated and exhausted Reading in a basement dogfight.
LIVERPOOL (4/6) can return to winning ways in the 4pm kick-off when they face Newcastle at Anfield (and Luis Suarez looks the best bet for first goalscorer).
Hopefully four in the bag as we move into Monday night’s game and we reckon WEST BROM (3/4), who struggle away from home but can be highly impressive at the Hawthorns, can do the business when misfiring Southampton come calling.
PG GOALRUSH
On to the weekend Goalrush. We just missed out last week when Stevenage failed to score at home to Swindon Town to do us out of a 20/1 winner, so better luck this week.
Take both teams to score in the following games in the Championship: Brighton v Leeds, Burnley v Wolves, Crystal Palace v Blackburn, Watford v Leicester, Bolton v Cardiff and Charlton v Middlesbrough.
PG XXX - Trixie
On to the weekend draw treble and we start at Craven Cottage where EVERTON take on FULHAM, a team who are hard to beat at their gaff and the draw is the easy way out in this one.
WOLVES have been something of a bookies’ side this season and they travel to BURNLEY who have just appointed Sean Dyche and will be up for this – but the draw is hard to ignore.
Making the XXX Trixie up is the battle of the managerless when Crystal Palace face Blackburn at Selhurst Park. I think both teams would be happy with a draw in uncertain times.
PG QUAD
A quick quad to end this week and slick HIBS (1/1) have hit a wee bit of form and look a solid home bet against St Mirren. KILMARNOCK (13/10) can build on that stunning Celtic Park win by claiming three more points at home to Inverness.
FA Cup First Round this week and in-form SHEFFIELD UTD (1/1) should take care of Bristol Rovers while Steel City rivals SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY can bank three points at home to Peterborough in the Championship.
