Legend has it that every object made by the House of Fabergé had to be individually approved by Karl Fabergé before it was considered ready to sell. Fabergé was known for his meticulous eye and supposedly would reject objects for the smallest faults. See many of his famed objects, like this bejeweled cane handle, at the DIA beginning October 14.
