This is a reconstituted 1996 Defence Communication Services Agency (DCSA) map, showing the former Alternative Central Government War Headquarters (ACGWHQ) at Corsham, North Wiltshire. The Corsham ACGWHQ was known by many codewords during its operation life:
SUBTERFUGE
STOCKWELL
BURLINGTON
TURNSTILE
CHANTICLEER
PERIPHERAL
EYEGLASS

The original Corsham ACGWHQ was much reduced in size from the late '60s onwards in keeping with its reduced wartime role.

From 01 May 1968, the radical new TOP SECRET Central Government wartime dispersal plan (known as the PYTHON concept) became operational, which meant that the Corsham ACGWHQ (then known as TURNSTILE) now acted mainly as a decoy site and, if it survived the anticipated nuclear strike, an a post-strike accretion centre for surviving PYTHON Groups and United Kingdom Supply Agency (UKSA) Sections.
