Yesterday I told you about 13 year old Jasmine Lowe that went missing in Western Belize. The Belize Police Police Department and her family and friends issued a call for the public's assistance in locating this young girl, a resident of San Ignacio Town. Jasmine was last seen getting in a taxi cab en-route to her mom's hair salon in San Ignacio town. I am sad to say, that she was found dead today. I spoke with Belmopan Police to confirm and they told me that the child was indeed found dead. This is a very, very horrendous crime. A child's death is always a terrible thing, but a child who dies under extreme violence is the absolute worst thing. Mr. Norales at the Belmopan Police Department said an autopsy will be done to determine the exact cause of death. He also said, "quite frankly, at this point we do not have a suspect; we very much need all information from the public who may know something about the abduction of this child." My prayers go out to the family and friends of Jasmine Lowe.
