The DIA received high honors in the American Association of Museums’ 24th Annual Excellence in Exhibitions Competition for the 2010 “Through African Eyes: The European in African Art, 1500 to the Present” exhibition. “Through African Eyes” was the only exhibition to receive the award for Overall Excellence. We thank everyone who helped make that exhibition happen! Pictured here are Dr. Nii Quarcoopome, head of the DIA’s Africa, Oceania, and Indigenous Americas department, and Swarupa Anila, DIA senior interpretive specialist, accepting the award on behalf of the museum earlier today.
