Needles, CA: Needles City Council Gets An Update on Operations at Colorado River Medical Center.


At last Tuesday’s Needles City Council Meeting, the City Council got an update on operations at Colorado River Medical Center in Needles, California by Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.

After the update on operations at Colorado River Medical Center presentation, Needles City Councilmember Linda J. Kidd ask Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg would like to see the same report on the update on operations at Colorado River Medical Center that is given to the Board of Hospital Trustees.

Needles City Councilmember Linda J. Kidd wants to see more of the financial details and information on the hospital; what is being billed up, what has been collected, and what was the average collective for your patient days so that the Needles City Council can look the information over.

Terri Anderson, Member of the Hospital Board of Trustees, gave some more information on the operations at Colorado River Medical Center to the Needles City Council and gave some financial information on the hospital.

- “The check for $219,062 have been cut and will sent be off tomorrow for that matching 113 grant money,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


- According to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg, that he is hopeful that money grant money will be sent to the hospital within 30 days.


- “The amount that would be return is about $379,000; so that is a very good turn around for us,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


- “Our credit limit had been increase; making us much more valuable for an organization,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg. 


- “Inpatient days were up in March which is always a very very good thing; that’s are largest source of income as they come in,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


- “We are entertained a proposal for one of the helicopter companies to begin to have the helicopter actually home ported here at Needles Hospital (Colorado River Medical Center) duct reducing the time to send a helicopter out of the hospital. We transfer out about 160 patients annually to other hospitals. This we believe will --- reduce the time that critical patients would be transfer to other hospitals or quicker response time for heart attacks, for neurology, for strokes, and those sort of things,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


“The deal we’re working out right now; they’ll dock there, pay for all their expenses, and the hospital receive money for a lease on that,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


- “I also been approach by a medical group who would like to establish a medical office here in town with a multi-specialty primary care and so we have signed a transfer agreement with the,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


- “We’ve moving to see what we can create and finish off the documents needed for the inspection,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


- “AB1915 money; the application needs to be turned in by the end of this week and we’re in line on doing that. The amount of money we should see is really hard to tell and we’ll know by the end of the week. I would estimate the number would be between $400,000 to $600.000; which would be paid to the hospital before the closing day of our fiscal year which is June of this year,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg.


“Fiscally, the hospital is in good shape right now,” according to Interim Chief Executive Officer of Colorado River Medical Center Jon Freeberg adding, “We’re living up to the compliance issues that the State requires us to live up to both in terms to our employees and the platinum coverage we are require to have. So I am feeling good about the hospital.”
