March 2012 was the warmest March in Peoria history and although April has started with record high temperatures, cooler but still above normal temperatures are on the way. Short term, a warm front is splitting the area resulting in highs barley in the ‘70s northeast of Peoria to highs in the upper ‘80s southwest. Peoria and Bloomington will see highs today around 80. A cold front will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms tomorrow and as the front hangs up over southern Illinois we could see some lingering showers Wednesday and Thursday. Another cold front brings scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday night.
