Jitterbug Perfume is an absolutely amazing book. Tom Robbins is hands down my favorite author of all time. Oryx and Crake by Margret Atwood is amazing too.

I recommend The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Good combo of fantasy and crime genres. 1st book in the series is "Storm Front". I also recommend "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" by Robert Heinlein.
