Needles, CA: Cracks Inside A Needles, California Well. During last Tuesday’s Needles City Council Meeting, Needles Water Department Supervisor Jerry Porter spoke during public appearance about an issue with Needles Water Well #10 located off of K Street near the Needles’ Bridge. Needles Water Well #10 was put in place in1998. According to Needles Water Department Supervisor Jerry Porter, Needles Water Well #10 was losing production about a month ago and cracks being found in the casings of the piping. Some bulged casing has started collapsing in onto itself and cracks may have allowed sand to get into the pumps destroying. A talk with a well driller said the well is unsaveable and may need to drill a new well which would cost $400,000.
