Come along and enjoy Australia Day celebrations on Thursday 26 January 2012 at Enmore Park.

Entertainment on the main stage will feature local Inner West acts to keep you entertained well into the night. Take a look at the timetable below for playing times.

Food on offer will cover various international cuisines such as Brazilian, French, Mediterranean, Indonesian, Chinese, Spanish, Peruvian and of course everyone's favourites - ice cream and fairy floss.

Free children's activities will keep the little ones occupied. The ever popular Magic Yellow Bus will make its appearance as well as Cameron the Kidderpiller, an inflated fun maze for toddlers. Stonevilla will run a 'Make Your Mark' drawing activity where kids make a squiggle or mark and Stonevilla Artists in full Mr Squiggle regalia will turn the squiggle in to an artwork. The Stripey Street Cat will also make an appearance for kids to colour in their own cat to take home. Earthbeats will run a drumming workshop for children under 12 and the Circus Playground will be operating through the evening for all ages to enjoy.

Don't miss out on the kids giant slide and the adult-size jumping castle for kids both big and small. Parents will finally be able to enjoy the jumping castle with their kids - and teens will get a go too.

The day will also feature the presentation of the Marrickville Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year 2012, a Citizenship Ceremony and close with a spectacular fireworks display.
'Make Your Mark' outfit competition

Stylist and Fashion Writer Donny Galella is Marrickville's Australia Day Ambassador. Donny has donated a one-hour style session with him as a prize for the best 'Make Your Mark' outfit competition.

To enter, simply wear an outfit that is your interpretation of the National Australia Day theme 'Make Your Mark'. It may be something you think reflects your heritage, or what it means to live in Marrickville, or perhaps it reflect what Australia Day is to you.

What you wear is up to your interpretation. To participate, make sure you're in the audience in front of the Main Stage at at 4.30pm. Donny will look through the crowd and choose finalists. Judging of the finalists will take place on the Main Stage at approximately 5.10pm.
A Happy and Safe Australia Day

To make the celebrations fun for all, please use the following tips to help keep everyone safe and happy:

No glass:
You are welcome to BYO but do not bring glass bottles. Broken glass is a hazard, especially in the grass. Bring recyclable plastic, aluminium or casks and bring some cups to enjoy all of your beverages.

Lost kids:
Any lost children or lost parents should visit the Police stall near the roundabout in the middle of the park. Visit them during the afternoon so you know where they are. Also, write parent’s name and mobile number on kids arms or on a sticker on their back so if they are lost, Police can all and find parents straight away. Most kids get separated from parents during the fireworks, so keep them close!

The jumping castle and slide will close at 8pm as they are not safe in the dark. Please do not join the queue after 7.45pm otherwise you may be disappointed!

Food stalls will close at 9pm on the dot. Make sure you've joined their queues by 8.45pm.

The fireworks at 9pm are spectacular but we advise keeping a big step back away from the fireworks fence throughout the whole day and even during the show. Sometimes fireworks sparks float out over the audience because of the wind, so keep safe and away from embers which may lightly burn if touched.

Refill your reuseable drink bottles with fresh cool water for free at Australia Day. Water coolers will be located near the Children’s playground and patrons are encouraged to stop using plastic bottles in favour of reuseable bottles to help reduce your environmental footprint.

Timetable and entertainment :
3:00pm - Welcome to Country, followed by the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Award presentations
    3.30pm - Citizenship Ceremony
4.45pm - Out of the Blue (Greek Blues)
