Ken Rinaldo, ‘Face Music’, 2011 (Nuit Blanche: Toronto).

The sounds that were manifested were both the result of all these localized interactions as well as the result of the sound sets that were specified in each sound set of the Ableton program (MAX for Live) I chose sound sets that reflected the ethnic diversity of the city of Toronto English, Scottish, Italian, Afghans, Arab, Chinese, Trinidadians and Vietnamese, Koreans to name just a few. 

Toronto is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world and I felt that given the premiere of this work within this culturally diverse city that both the makeup of faces and the sounds selected would allow the most diverse rhythmic and musical fusions.
