Off the top of my head, I think technically speaking (Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007), Lee SE12 is ‘posher’ then Hither Green - probably due to the Blackheath ‘knob effect’, excuse the vernacular. Lee SE12 is also a larger swathe of SE London compared to Hither Green SE13. ‘Greater Lee’ includes a fair slice of SE13 at its NW end, smidgen of SE3 at Lee Green, and extends south to Grove Park SE12. Its clearest demarcation seems to be in the NE - bound by Kidbrooke SE3, SE9 at Sutcliffe Park, Clifton’s Roundabout and Mottingham. Lee is also quite a mixed area - varied housing, shops, half a dozen schools, light industry and probably best characterised by its major thorough fares and ‘has seen better days’ status; compared to the more residential and sedate Hither Green.
