Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a condition of prostate gland which is characterized by number of symptoms and discomfort. Prostate gland is of a size of a walnut that is situated under the bladder and surrounds the urethra. This gland does very important job of secreting a fluid that becomes a part of semen. Prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia both are different from each other but many times the symptoms get misunderstood for prostate cancer. In BPH, the prostate gland grows in size and it may compress the urethra which courses through the center of the prostate.
