A Tour de Force This February Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic take off for the Europe / Winter 2012 tour of Europe's musical capitals — from Cologne, Frankfurt, and Düsseldorf to Luxembourg, Paris, Amsterdam, and London. The Orchestra will perform works spanning the 19th–21st centuries — featuring violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann, pianist Lang Lang, and mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato — and will kick off its inaugural International Associates residency at London's Barbican Centre, which will include the U.K. Premiere of Thomas Adès’s Polaris.
