ZachNews got the call around 9:45pm PT to reports of a missing person in the Colorado River near Jack Smith Park in Needles, California.

Freelance Photojournalist Zachary Lopez of ZachNews went on the call to cover the news story and seen a San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Search and Rescue Boat on the Colorado River but nobody was at Jack Smith Park.

ZachNews moved up the Colorado River to find where the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Search and Rescue Teams were set up and as Freelance Photojournalist Zachary Lopez was filming some lightning shots of a thunderstorm that was over Needles, a family member of Andrew asked Freelance Photojournalist Zachary Lopez to help find Andrew.

Freelance Photojournalist Zachary Lopez went to help search for Andrew south of the Jack Smith Park along the Colorado River as San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Search and Rescue Boats shined their searchlights along the shoreline.

Andrew was not found that night and the thunderstorms to the west began to move right over Needles and along the Colorado River area.

ZachNews went this Saturday morning to Jack Smith Park to find out if the search for Andrew and got the heart breaking news.

Another tragic weekend on the Colorado River in Needles, CA.

Last weekend, Terrell Blake Lopez was reported missing after he fell off a boat and later was found on Wednesday dead along the Colorado River near Lake Havasu in Arizona.

Please be safe and careful if you are planning to swim or boat along the Colorado River this weekend.
