tis the season of jujube, a lovely fruit that looks like olives but tastes like apples. well not quite. it is actually quite unique. here is a photo of dried jujube that i snapped in the bazar in isfahan. i am not quite sure what it is used for in that state but i know that on tuesday, i will be going to zeina in moscow road to buy myself a whole lot of jujube ('ennab in arabic and farsi as you can see from the sign, that is if you can decipher arabic letters) and i expect them to be seriously expensive as they will be imported from either lebanon or syria. i used to pick them straight off the tree at my syrian aunt's farm :)
