Justin Bieber ‘Never Say Never’ New Version Released August 23,2011

Been there done that: just like when ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never‘ was released to movie theaters, the DVD has two versions. The longer one is out now.

The Justin Bieber marketing machine went back into gear and has released his 3D biopic, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never – again. This time it’s the release of a longer version called Justin Bieber: Never Say Never Director’s Fans Cut.

This version of the film came out on August 23, 2011.

The movie was directed by American filmmaker, Jonathan Chu, and is only available at Target stores. It is a full 23 minutes longer than the most prominent version of the film that played movie theaters. This version, or one close to this one, also played the movie theaters (it was 34 minutes longer) and the ploy of releasing two versions of the film earned extra revenue as many fans went to both. It is likely many fans will buy both versions.

Bieber’s Never Say Never Includes “New Features”

The film – the original, shorter version that is – hit movie theaters Feb. 11 and by March was the most successful concert-themed film at the domestic box office, passing the previous leader, Michael Jackson’s This is It. It was released in two stages, the original version followed by the longer-by-34-minutes version, which played theaters for a week only in March. After that week the theaters reverted back to the shorter film.

This newly-released, longer version is designed to be a product that the hardcore Bieber fan – and there seems to be one or two of them – will not be able to resist, despite the fact many will already own the previously released, shorter version. The Bieber marketing machine is including a few extras with the purchase of this one.

“The two-disc DVD with digital copy comes packaged in a collectible keepsake box,” the Bieber press release says. “And along with more than an hour of new features, includes an exclusive Bieber necklace. It is listed at $29.95.
