2011 Seoul Global Marketing Project supported by Seoul Metropolitan Government
The theme of this event is to promote Seoul, the capital city of Korea to Australia residents through Crossover Korean Jazz music of Stone Jazz, featured with the world first drawing performance ‘Original Drawing Show’ and ‘Hangul (Korean alphabet) Calligraphy performance. This event will present encounters of up-to-date level of various arts such as indigenous Korean music, modern paintings and calligraphy with Jazz.
Stone Jazz is a Korean professional music group of 6 members composed of basic jazz trio (piano, contra bass and drums) combined with traditional Korean instruments - Gayageum (Korean traditional Harp), Haegeum (Korean traditional Violin), and Piri (Korean traditional Oboe) who embodies superb acoustic sound with combination of oriental and western classic instruments. They will entertain you with worldwide known standard jazz numbers and pops not to speak of Korean folk tunes turning into new kind of jazz so called 'Crossover Jazz' handling them with full of care and consideration to give them not only new quality but also delicate energy.

Drawing Show by Jin Kyu Kim
The world first drawing show has been created by Jin Kyu from the question of “Why are paintings seen only in the galleries?”and undertakes the process of drawing and painting to reveal how the process matters than results and how pleasant of this process on the stage. This show is highlighted by unexpected turns at every scene through unbelievably rapid drawings and instant transformations of paintings.
Calligraphy Performance by Sang Hyun Lee
He is the foremost calligraphist as an artist acting with brushes in Korea. He is often dubbed 'actor with writing brush' or ‘pioneer of Korean Calligraphy’, who adds expressions and sensitivity to Korean alphabet. He has highly contributed to the popularisation of Korean traditional calligraphy via brisk artistic activities at home and abroad.
