French President Nicolas Sarkozy (L) pay tribute to one of the 10 French NATO troops in Afghanistan, killed this week during fighting following a Taliban ambush near Kabul, after laying a posthumous insigna of 'Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur' (Knight of the Legion of Honour) on his coffin, during a national ceremony at the Invalides, on August 21, 2008 in Paris. The ceremony also pay a state tribute to the 21 French soldiers wounded in the worst battlefield toll for foreign troops since the 2001 fall of the Taliban.
