Needles, CA: Residents at the Overland Motel in Downtown Needles had to pack up and move out of the motel last Friday morning after the City of Needles Building and Safety Department ordered the building unsafe to occupy. The Overland Motel has had problems in the pass keeping the building up to code; in this case the issue had to do with no running water in the building. Pictures show the condition of the motel the many had to live in. The Overland Motel located on the 700 block of West Broadway and is mostly used for apartments. Many who lived at this motel have been living there for years. Residents at the Overland Motel were very upset at the owner of the property and the City of Needles for the short notice. Residents had to pack up their belongings and move out immediately that same day. Many questioned the City of Needles on why the City closed the motel down now and not months or years before that day. Some residents told ZachNews that this motel had problems way before with no water running into the building, bugs in the room, and lacks from the ceiling. Many residents and those who work near this motel are surprised that the City took this long to do something about the problems happening at the Overland Motel.
