Death: Aug 06, 2007
 of Chubbuck Idaho; assigned to 1st Battalion 23rd Infantry Regiment 3rd Brigade 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) Fort Lewis Wash.;  Died Aug. 6 in Baqubah Iraq of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device. Also killed were Staff Sgt. Jacob M. Thompson Cpl. Juan M. Alcantara and Cpl. Kareem R. Khan.  Pocatello turns out to honor soldier killed in Iraq  The Associated Press  POCATELLO Idaho — Nearly 500 people turned out at the airport to greet the flag-draped casket of an eastern Idaho soldier killed in Iraq.  Sgt. Nicholas A. Gummersall23 of Chubbuck Idaho and three other Stryker Brigade soldiers  Died Aug. 6 when a blast destroyed a house they were clearing in Baqubah. They were members of Company B 1st Battalion 23rd Infantry Regiment 3rd Brigade 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) based at Fort Lewis Wash.  Gummersall on his fourth tour of duty was due home Sept. 15 and was enrolled at Boise State University for fall classes.  His parents Clay and Carol Gummersall as well as other relatives friends and high school football teammates walked with the casket Aug. 14 as it was moved to a waiting hearse.  Gummersall’s funeral is scheduled for Aug. 17. Operation Iraqi Freedom
