Ted Turner, founder of @CNN & Chairman of the @Unfoundation joins @Rotary's "This Close" campaign to end polio. Known for his environmental activism and generous philanthropy, Turner created the United Nations Foundation in 1998 with his historic $1 billion gift in support of the United Nations. Since its creation, the United Nations Foundation has been a proud partner of Rotary International and an active participant in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Rotary is "this close" to achieving its goal of a polio-free world and more than 20 international and regional luminaries have signed on to help Rotary spread the word about polio eradication.
