Army Spc. Justin B. Schmidt

of Bradenton Fla.; assigned to 4th Battalion 27th Field Artillery Regiment 1st Armored Division Baumholder Germany; one of eight soldiers killed April 29 by a car bomb as his unit was doing a dismounted improvised-explosive device-sweep in Baghdad. Justin Schmidt was born in 1980 at MacDill Air Force Base Fla. and grew up in Bradenton Fla. He joined the Army in February 2002. He is survived by his parents Victor Schmidt and Lenore Roberts.
