J.Crew's chief executive Mickey Drexler told Bloomberg TV that UK expansion was due to "huge demand overseas".
J.Crew dipped a toe in the UK market in May last year by launching on luxury shopping site Net-a-Porter.com. The limited edition J.Crew e-tail experience proved a huge hit, prompting J.Crew to launch a stand-alone site.
